How Preven can help

Knowledge and support for different needs

01

Support for owners, stud farms and trainers

Weight changes, altered body condition, difficulty recovering, fluctuations in athletic performance, episodes of laminitis and unexpected responses to feeding may require a broader assessment, including in high-performance sport horses.

Preven Horse supports owners, stud farm managers and trainers in organizing each horse’s information and building an individualized nutritional management plan in coordination with the professionals responsible.

About Preven Horse

Science to organize decisions in horse care

Each horse’s nutritional, metabolic and endocrine responses cannot be understood through the choice of feed or supplements alone.

While many concerns are considered in isolation, Preven Horse seeks to understand the horse as a whole organism, taking into account feeding, clinical signs, body condition, tests, management and individual needs.

This integrated view turns signs into investigation, evidence into decisions and planning into monitored management, with individualized guidance on what to observe, record and review throughout the process.

Consulting for owners

Individualized endocrine and nutritional assessment

Our consulting service is for owners who want to better understand their horse’s condition and organize feeding, management and follow-up around individual needs and goals. The work also covers prevention, athletic performance and foal development.

Consultations may be in person or remote, depending on the case. Remote care requires a veterinarian at the horse’s location to follow the case. This allows Preven Horse to serve other regions of Brazil and consider inquiries from abroad, in English when needed.

Situations that may lead owners to seek support

  • Changes in weight or body condition
  • Localized fat along the neck
  • History or recurrence of laminitis
  • Difficulty gaining or losing weight
  • Changes in performance or recovery
  • Pursuit of peak athletic performance
  • Nutritional support for foal development
  • Questions about forage, feed and supplementation
  • Need to reorganize nutritional management

Each case is assessed individually, in coordination with the veterinarian and other professionals involved in the horse’s care.
